Each year Cappadox’s Contemporary Art Programme displays artwork in different and new locations in the Cappadocia region, reflecting both the many layered histories and possibilities of the landscape, as well as the curatorial vision to embed the festival and its art programme into the local communities and environment. In 2018, Balkanderesi Valley is the center of Contemporary Art Programme.

In Balkanderesi Valley, 14 artists, both Turkish and international, will make site-specific, public works. On the guided tour of the exhibition, the attendees will learn about each artistic contribution, their meanings and inspirations, and its relationship to the social and historic background as well as the geography of Cappadocia.
