Organized in the scope of Cappadox 2016 Contemporary Arts events and being a part of Floral Talks, Flora Walk continues at Cappadox 2018. Flora Walk with Saniye Manici Gezer from Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş University Medical and Aromatic Plants Division, invites you to take a look into the flora, hidden by the magnificent geological structure of Cappadocia. The tour will take place in Gomeda Valley and Saniye Manici Gezer will share scientific and cultural information on places of regional plants, along with traces of Cappadocia’s former and recent beliefs, traditions and practices.

* Walk sets off from Mustafapaşa and ends at Aravan;

* We follow the depth of Gomeda Valley;

* With its thick floral structure that covers the trail, Gomeda Valley will show us its own botanical gifts as wild garlics, mulleins, endemic water mint. Also we’ll talk about the benefits of all these plants.

* We walk through the stream of Üzengi;

*And the walk ends as we reach to Aravan

Beginning hour: 09:30

Trail length: 2 km.

Ground: Rough and covered with plants

Duration: 180 minutes

Be at Uçhisar Info/Shuttle Point 30 min before the flora walk begins. Shuttles will drop walkers off at the same point after the walk.

Come prepared

* As long as you are in good health you will have no difficulty with the walk, although you may wish to get into better shape beforehand to make it easier to focus more on the view and less on the physical effort. All ages are welcome. 

*You should wear a trekking shoe.

* We recommend you to not wear any shorts to avoid the harms that plants can give.

*Ticket prices will change according to indoor sales, on festival dates June 14-19.

Who is Saniye Manici Gezer?

Born in 23.07.1969 Saniye Manici Gezer graduated from Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University as a Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Technician.

Gezer conducts workshops aimed to balance the seven chakras by stimulating the body, mind and subconcious with aromatherapy. Various essential oils, soaps, creams and medical oils are utilized to benefit from the goods Mother Nature provides in a peaceful and embracing environment.

Children below the age of 8 may not attend Flora Walk, Geology Tour, Guided Tour, Tour With Curator events.
