One of Russia’s most important directors; Andrey Zvyagintsev, comes with a strriking sroty with “LEVIATHAN” after his award winning movies like “The Return”, “Elena” and “The Banishment”. Telling the story of one person’s battle against a corrupted government in a unique way the movie was awarded with “Best Movie in a Foreign Language” at the Golden Globes and “Best Screenplay” at 2014’s Cannes Film Festival. The movie was also awarded with “Best Movie” award from the many festivals it was screened at and was nominated for the “Best Movie in a Foreign Language” at the 2015’s Academy Awards.

Kolya, who is a mechanic, lead a moderate life with his wife and kid. One day, his life changes when the Municipality wants to take away the land where he has his shop and house. Kolya opposes the decision and finds himself up against an authority which uses law as it pleases and he decides to get help from his lawyer friend Dmitri from Moscow. During this period, Kolya will get close to losing everything he has, including his wife and house.
