The documentary focuses on the disagreements, hunger and migration witnessed by the famous photographer Sebastião Salgado during recent history. He tells the discovery of human sceneries thorough the beauty of the planet, the virgin lands, wild animals and the plants.

When photographer Sebastião Salgado and his son Juliano asks Wim Wenders to join them on a trip as an outsider’s point of view, Wenders decides to turn the trip into a documentary. The documentary is about the father-son relationship while the photographer’s art is coming to life and the family life of the Salgados.
