EXHIBITION: SILENCE (14 JUNE - 9 JULY, 2018)

“Silence” is about the living, from the microbiotic to mammal. It explores how humans are silenced and how they silence each other as well as animals, nature, and histories. The exhibition seeks to give a voice not only to all sentient beings, but also to those that exist outside of language and our present time, all while reacting to the specific landscape and history of Cappadocia.

Cappadox’s Contemporary Art Programme 2018 takes place in the town of Ortahisar and its Balkanderesi Valley. The participating artists include: Ali Kazma (Turkey), Aydan Mürtezaoğlu & Bulent Şangar (Turkey), Babi Badalov (France), Bettina Hutschek (Germany), Cansu Cakar (Turkey), Erkan Ozgen (Turkey), Haig Aivazian (Lebanon), Hale Tenger (Turkey), Inci Eviner (Turkey), RAAAF (Holland), Rossella Biscotti (Italy), Sarkis (Turkey), Susan Philipsz (Scotland), The Chapuisat Brothers (Switzerland).
