CEYLAN ERTEM

Singer and songwriter Ceylan Ertem had music on her mind from day one moving to İstanbul to study musicology back in 1999 and joined rock band anima the next year. The group was signed by Sony Music after six years of various performances and original songs, releasing their debut album ‘animasal’.

Ertem subsequently embarked on a journey as a solo artist recording and touring with names such as Phillipp Gropper of Germany, United Fools in France and Barana in the Netherlands releasing Xenopolis from the Turkish record label Baykuş Müzik in 2014 with the latter. The musician published her first solo album Soluk in 2010, and continued releasing an album almost every year, with ‘Ütopyalar Güzeldir’ in 2012, Amansız Gücenik in November 2014 and cover album YUH! In 2015.

Taking a brief hiatus from consecutive releases, yet continuing great live performances like JazzAhead this past April; the songstress is back with Yine de Amin, her latest album recorded in Gaziantep released February 2018. Ertem continues to perform in Turkey and abroad non-stop.
