BABA ZULA

Bringing together the European and Asian roots of İstanbul in various forms and under many names for two decades, BaBa Zula is easily Turkey’s most well-known contributor to the global psychedelic music scene.

BaBa Zula’s music is equally influenced by legends of Anatolian music such as Aşık Veysel, Aşık Mahzuni, Barış Manço and Moğollar, and global icons like Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Santana, The Doors. Their eclectic music surpasses genres but it’s safe to say their own brand of psychedelia has always been rooted  in Anatolian folk music.

Their latest album XX on Glitterbeat marks their 20th year yet BaBa Zula’s eclectic sound and unique live performance is still as fresh. The veteran band will be on the Perili Ozanlar Vadisi Volkswagen stage on June 16.
