MESKENDIR VALLEY WALK

The defining feature of the Meskendir Valley, Valley  Walk is that it takes on a journey to where we explore the tunnels of Cappadocia. We will pass through the peerless beauty of tunnels (both natural and man-made) under and around the fairy chimneys and work our way down to the floor of the valley.

* Walk sets off from Red Valley at the sunset veiwing point. We drop in on the Church of Grapes, pass through some tunnels, enter the Meskendir Valley, pass through the Meskendir valley finally reaching the Kaya Camping (on Göreme - Ürgüp Road).

*Visit the Church of Üzümlü;

*Walk down following the floor of the valley ground (on the way to Çavuşin);

*Walk through the Red Valley tunnels;

*Complete the Red Valley walk and enter the Meskendir Valley;

*Stop off at an area full of fairy chimneys located at the end of the Red Valley and at the beginning of Meskendir Valley;

*Walk up to the Kaya Camping from the Meskendir Valley;

*Walk ends at the Kaya Camping.

Beginning hour: 09:00 a.m.

Trail length: 5 km.

Ground: Soft (with ups and downs). 

Duration: 150 dakika

Be at Uçhisar Info/Shuttle Point 30 min before the walk begins. Shuttles will drop walkers off at the Red Valley sunset viewing point. There will be a similar service back to Uçhisar Info Point at the end of the walk.

Come prepared:

* As long as you are in good health you will have no difficulty with the walk, although you may wish to get into better shape beforehand to make it easier to focus more on the view and less on the physical effort.

* All ages are welcome. However, we suggest you don’t consider this walk if you are over 65 and not in good shape.

Note *Ticket prices may vary at the box office on festival dates, June, 14-19.

- Children over 6 years old will be needing a ticket to attend the events
- Ticket holders below 18 years old, will need to be accompanied by their parents holding a ticket from the same event.
- Children under 6 years old can not attend outdoor events. 
-Children under 12 years old can not attend cycling events. 
-Children under 8 years old can not attend Valley Walk and Valley Run events.
