Swedish band Fontän has been around for over a decade. Somewhere between psychedelia and club music, the combination of genres like post-rock, dub disco, Krautrock, and progressive have resulted in tracks admired the world over. In addition to successful collaborations with El Perro del Mar, Silverbullit, and Studio, Fontän also received praise for their headlining performance last September at Convenanza, where they were invited to play by Mogwai and Andrew Weatherall. Following their acclaimed 2009 album Winterhwhila, band members Johan Melin and Jasper Jarold felt they needed a new direction. To kick start the new phase of their career, the two traveled to Bhutan, a South Asian country that admits few tourists. There, the duo was inspired by the local music scene, even recoding with local artists. Their long-awaited, eponymous album, Fontän was ranked one of the top albums of 2017 by leading Swedish newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet.
